San Francisco State's Institute for Civic and Community Engagement has partnered with the City and County of San Francisco's Neighborhood Empowerment Network (NEN) and will soon be using social media (wiserearth.com) to engage students in making San Francisco neighborhoods better able to recover after the next BIG ONE (you know, the Earthquake). 

We have an eager team of civically-minded faculty and students as our Executive Committee, and have just made two $1,500 mini-grants to faculty for student-led projects.
