One Paragraph Description
Tusculum is working to address issues of diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion on campus and in the broader community. They are partnering with the George Clem Multicultural Center to create videos and other educational materials that will be shared via YouTube, wikis, and in-person educational events to address these issues and promote healthy community.
Summary of Activities: Cumulative
Please add a few bullets that summarize the work your program has done related to Serve 2.0 from first learning of the initiative. This might include web media you've developed (such as wikis, videos), students/staff you've engaged, planning meetings, educational activities/trainings, and service events or activities sponsored in relation to this work.
Sub-Grant Proposal
- We have met with Gene Maddox the president of the George Clem Multicultural Association to discuss what he would like to see done within the program and how we can help him.
- I have also met with people in Student Affairs and other organizations on campus about helping support our group by getting free tickets to games and other things on campus that the students from the GCMA could attend. We also discuss various athletic teams coming to visit the students and motivating them to stay in school and go on to college.
- We have not started any social media at this time because of the group of students we will be working with. The students comes from low income homes without access to the internet. We will be making videos once the group starts meeting and will have some type of web media blog for Bonners to comment on what we have done and how it has impacted them personally.
- We are really just now getting on our feet with the project so with it being summer we have not had any training with all our Bonners. Once school gears back up we will be doing more training with the Bonners on what to do and how to handle different situations.
- We have decided to take one Tuesday a month during our regular meeting time to go to GCMA and meet with these students. The students we will be working with will be from the Wesley Heights community and at risk for truency or are already truent. Our goal with this group is to keep them in school and out of trouble by giving them numerous people to look up to and who can be good role models for them. We plan on getting many of our athletic groups on campus involved as well. The students will also be rewarded for their attendence and interest in the program with the opportunity to go to games on campus and be a part of the our annual fashion show at the end of the year.

Other Students, Faculty, Campus Groups/Departments, and Community Constituents Engaged
Please summarize in a few words/sentences how your program/project has reached out to, involved, or engaged:
- Other Bonners: All of the Tusculum Bonners will be involved with the group. This allows the students more people to connect with and the Bonners the opportunity to see life as they may have never experienced it before.
- Students at large: The students at Tusculum will be made aware of what we are doing with the students from the GCMA. They will also be given every opportunity to come and help us with the group.
- Campus Groups/Departments: We have been and will continue to reach out to various groups and departments on campus for their support and help with our group. We have big plans for the group, but we cannot do it without the help of others on campus.
- Community Constituents:
Goals for Summer/Fall 2009
Please add three updated goals. These can be drawn from your proposal, but should be revised according to your accomplished work.
- Our first and biggest goal is to identify what students should be in our group through the school system so we can get the program up and running finally. We also need to figure out a name for the students we will be working!
- Get our fellow Bonners excited about what we are going to be doing and realize how much impact we could have on this group.
- Use our flip cam and other media tools to let other Bonners outside of Tusculum see what we are doing and who we are working with! We also want to figure out a way for the students from GCMA to have access to the internet so they could comment on the program as well.
- Prepare our piece of a presentation/summary for the Bonner Fall Directors Meeting (workshop or fair).
Winter/Spring 2010 Goals & Progress
